John says: ‘I bumped into Tom Shorter early in 2010 whilst we were involved in the music for a dance piece called “Arch” being performed in Oxford. Over a beer, Tom mentioned the fact that he was starting up a small publishing house, and the first publication was to be a Christmas collection. I let slip that I was a composer and had a piece he might be interested in … I’m especially proud that my first published work sits alongside David Bevan’s magnificent Magnificat Octavi Toni setting. David was a great friend and mentor whilst I was a chorister at Westminster Cathedral.’
